We are proud to support Barkers' Butts RFC for the coming season

Barkers' Butts Rugby Football Club located at the Bob Coward Memorial Ground on Pickford Grange Lane and was formed in 1947. The club has produced a number of International players over the years including Neil Back, Danny Grewcock, Tom Wood and Jim Hamilton. The club has also been a feeder club for Covenrty RFC over the years due to the vast number of minis, juniors and colts teams they produce. BBRFC is in the Midlands 2 West (South) division and for the coming season we are sponsoring the First Team Captain, James Rooke (who also represents his country for England Police RFC) and you will also see our logo on a pitch board and the warm up shirts.

BSPS Summer Championships 2017

We have been sponsoring the Gold Cup classes at the BSPS for over 20 years. There are always a high number of entries with competitors performing a mini eventing circuit with a Working Hunter round, a Dressage test then the finale is Show Jumping in the indoor arena in the evening performance. This year the 133cm winner was Matilda Lanni riding Birkinbrook Arabella, 143cm Ella Hayes riding Carnsdale Tickled Pink, 153cm Philippa Weir riding Freckleton Maximus and the Intermediate winner Daniela Johnson riding Elton John I. Elton John I was the overall champion with Matilda Lanni being reserve. All four winners qualify for the BSPS & White Company Sports Pony at Burghley Horse Trials.

Over 70 and driving a Horsebox?

When you have to renew your license at 70 years old, you do not automatically continue to have the Category which allows you to drive vehicles which are between 3.5T and 7.5T on your license (C1). Your license will be renewed without this and in order for you to continue driving vehicles of this weight, you have to fill in a form from the DVLA and have the medical declaration signed by the doctor. The details can be seen here.

SSADL Olympia Finals 2016
This is the third year I have been involved with the SSADL and the Olympia finals, just being part of the excitement of the competitors and supporters is rewarding in itself; both in the arena and in the stable area. I was so impressed with the quality of the horses and ponies which appear to get better and better each year. No matter where they are placed, to see how delighted all the riders and handlers are to be part of Olympia is the highlight of my year. More information and the full results can be seen on the SSADL Facebook page and the photos are from Real Time Imaging. The In-Hand Champion Liam Keetley with Hampton Scandal - photo by Real Time Imaging.

BSPS Summer Championships
The British Show Pony Society Summer Championships took place at Arena UK from 24th - 27th August. Our Gold Cup Classes had great entries and the competitors had a tough task of performing a dressage test, Working Hunter round and then the top ponies competed in the Show Jumping in the evening performance on the Thursday evening tackling our Joker fence for extra points. The 2016 Gold Cup Champion was Red Dandy II ridden by Saffron Osborne and the reserve Ella's Melody ridden by Henrietta Horsley-Gubbins.

SSADL Home Produced Showing Championships
The Senior Showing and Dressage Championships took place at Onley Showground on 10th and 11th September. It was a wonderfully organised show and very friendly. Mr Evans judged the Open Ridden class on the Saturday and presented the Olympia qualifier prizes in the evening. Well done to Victoria Littlewood and Mosstown Marz who won the Restricted Ridden class.

SSADL Olympia Finals
Judging at Olympia was an honor and a privilege. The quality of the competitors was so high and it was a pleasure to judge both classes. My thanks to the SSADL for all their work at Olympia and throughout the year. The results are on the SSADL website.

More information can be found on our Facebook page and on the SSADL Facebook page.

We shared a stand with Senior Showing And Dressage Ltd at the Your Horse Live Show. On the day SSADL offered a free draw to win two tickets to Olympia and as SSADL's major sponsor for Olympia we had a draw to win a year's free horsebox insurance. The lucky winner of our competition is MR EDWARD FAHY of ILKESTON; congratulations to Mr Fahy and thank you to everybody who visited our stand and entered the draw.

Congratulations to the winner of Senior Showing And Dressage Ltd's Olympia Newsletter free raffle Helen Leather and to Hannah Holmes who won their Your Horse Live Olympia free raffle.
